Substance management Tasks and accountabilities:
Increasing legal requirements on product compliance and in particular hazardous substances
in products and conflict minerals in products or critical materials in products require Airbus to
collect important amounts of information from its suppliers of parts. In case of failure to
collect associated information, Airbus may face product non compliance issues to be corrected
or business disruption, and may also face litigation actions.
Current process for collecting such information is still with many manual interfaces, including
for data management and data processing. Under Substance roadmap leadership, a project has
been launched to correct the situation and PY is leading a project to organize data transparency
from Airbus supply chain on hazardous substances (for supplier design parts), sustainable
sources of minerals and other critical raw materials. The project aims at digitalizing this data
collection from the supply chain, considering delivered products and manufacturing processes.
The mission of this task force will be to:
support the deployment of the tool to the next waves: 400 suppliers / year
analyze Airbus suppliers data received and challenge it
support Airbus suppliers questions & challenges regarding the information/ regulations
requested via the tool
create supplier development plan if he is not mature regarding the declaration requested
support Environmental Clauses upgrade
this task force will also support procurement operation teams in their responsibility of verifying that deliverables from suppliers are satisfying regulatory obligations and Airbus requirements. In some aspects the procurement operations teams and buyers may need expert support to fully understand and consider the existing environmental requirements in contractual relation with suppliers, to understand the ambition of the SSCR roadmap in this aspect or to understand specific substance related communication to suppliers.
In procurement operations role, there will be:
qualitative and quantitative verification of the information provided vs Airbus and legal requirement;
when a possible conflict mineral is mentioned to engage with supplier to verifying the sourcing of this mineral according to certified due diligence process;
when a banned substance is reported, to engage with supplier, in connection with the substance roadmap to ensure appropriate obsolescence management plan is in place, could it be for a substance in process or a substance in product;
track records of all exchanges is required to protect possible litigations;
If you have:
at least 3 years experience (or educational background) on Sustainability topics;
experience in Procurement will be a strong advantage,
IT Tools experienced user;
strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills;
leadership to promote the Airbus sustainability approach and be able to influence;
team player, proactive and supportive;
language skills: Fluent in English.
